There are four rooms located on the Scarborough campus that are equipped for communicating with students, staff, faculty, guest lecturers, and other organizations at a distance. Our professional grade facilities have been used very successfully to connect classrooms together, meeting spaces together, and for making events such as guest lecturers accessible at-a-distance. A number of Video Conferencing facilities exist throughout the University of Toronto. UTSC Virtual Meeting RoomStaffFacultyWhether using one of UTSC’s dedicated videoconference facilities, or with Cisco Jabber, you can connect to the UTSC virtual meeting room for online conferencing and knowledge transfer from wherever you are. SkypeStaffFacultySkype is a free service that allows you to participate remotely in meetings from the comfort of your office. You can connect to other users in Audio-only or Audio-and-Video mode. Windows users wishing to use Skype on computers connected to UTSC network must utilize the UTSC Skype Installer program rather than the public release to ensure that the Supernode feature is disabled and therefore inhibit its ability to generate large amount of network traffic and risk being blocked off the network. ePresenceStaffFacultyIITS provides real time and on-demand webcasting services using the ePresence system.
