TRANSFERRING TO U of T SCARBOROUGH

We welcome transfer students from colleges and universities.

APPLICANTS FROM UNIVERSITIES & COLLEGES (NON-CAAT)

  • Applicants who have obtained a high level of academic achievement will be considered.
  • Admission will be based on your overall academic record with more emphasis on your last year of full time study.
  • All program prerequisites must be met, including any requirements specified for the limited-enrolment programs below.   » View prerequisites

Restrictions
Transfer students with more than one year of university-level study are not eligible for admission to the following programs:

  • Concurrent Education
  • Co-op Cell & Molecular Biology
  • Co-op Management programs - all options
  • Co-op Neuroscience
  • Journalism

In addition, we do not normally accept as degree candidates, students who have completed more than two years (10 full credits) at the university level.

Limited-Enrolment Programs
Transfer students applying to limited enrolment programs such as Biology, Management or Computer Science are expected to have taken the same types of first year courses as U of T Scarborough students for program consideration. See the U of T Scarborough course Calendar for details about courses our students take.

EXAMPLE
If you are applying to Management you should have the equivalent of:
- MGTA03H3 (Introduction to Management I)
- MGTA04H3 (Introduction to Management II)
- ECMA04H3 (Introduction to Microeconomics: Mathematical Approach)
- ECMA06H3 (Introduction to Macroeconomics: Mathematical Approach)
- MATA32H3 (Calculus for Management I)
- MATA33H3 (Calculus for Management II)

You must normally have completed 4.0 transferable credits to be considered for direct admission to many limited-enrolment programs. If you do not have 4.0 transferable credits, it is likely that we would consider you for an alternate program such as Pre-Program in Management, which would still allow you to apply to the BBA program at the end of your first year at U of T Scarborough.

APPLICANTS FROM ONTARIO COLLEGES OF ARTS & APPLIED TECHNOLOGY (CAAT)

  • A completed two-year diploma (or 2 full years of a 3 year diploma) in a program with sufficient academic content is the normal minimum requirement for admission consideration. Typically, the required minimum average is a B minus, with stronger averages needed for highly competitive programs.

  • An applicant to an arts-humanities or social science program whose achievement is marginally below B minus standing may also be considered. Admission will be based on your overall academic performance, with emphasis on your last year of full-time study.

  • Mature students (at least 21 years old) who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada may ask to be considered for admission based on 1 year of CAAT study.

Prequisites
All program prerequisites must be satisfied at the Grade 12 U/OAC level.

Two semesters of each subject taken at a CAAT may be considered in lieu of Grade 12 U/OAC program prerequisites.
